The Day Care Council of New York-Local 205, District Council 37 Welfare Fund
started in April 24, 1970 in cooperation between Local 205, CSAEU D.C. 1707 and the Day Care Council of New York, Inc.  Today, almost 35 years later, the welfare fund provides supplemental health and welfare benefits to approximately 6,000 members of Local 205, D.C. 37, employed at 350 day care centers in the New York City area.  Benefits, both insured and self insured, include but are not limited to Optical, Dental, Prescription Drugs, Orthopedic and Prescribed Durable Medical Equipment.

Each Fund is a separate and financial entity under the terms of its own Agreement and Declaration of Trust.  A Board of Trustees compromising of both union and employer trustees is responsible for the administration of each Fund.  The Board has an Office, Administrator and Staff responsible for the day to day operation of the funds and delivery of the benefits to its day care membership.
